To the editor:

The Board Members of Boogaloo Folk Life Productions would like to thank Union County citizens for their overwhelming support of our Christmas production, Stealing Christmas.

A production of this magnitude takes many hours of work and depends upon the dedication of many people. Our director, Ralph Lawson, our playwright, Betsy Trakas, and our producer, Jane Wilkes, worked tirelessly to produce a wonderful show highlighting local talent and stories.

We were fortunate to have great musicians, Buddy Wilkes and Dell Morgan, and a fine choreographer, Janet Lawson. We are always blessed with a fantastic cast and crew!

The outpouring of community pride and spirit was evident not only in the number of people attending the shows, but also in the many kind words of encouragement. We thank everyone who attended the shows and those who contributed money or time.

We were especially pleased this year at the number of audience members attending from neighboring towns. We had three busloads of friends from the Inman and Spartanburg areas. Their response was very positive and they talked about attending our next show. We were happy to guide them to area restaurants, galleries and museums during their visits to Union. It is exciting to think of all these visitors who might be in our downtown area during show times.

Please continue to support us by sharing your talent and your stories. To share your stories and see them come to life on stage, contact the Union County Arts Council (429-2817) and leave your number if you would like to join us in any way.

Thank you again, Union County citizens, for helping to promote the arts and to preserve our history through story.
