Corn Tossing is a sport in which competitors attempt to throw a beanbag into a small hole on a board.
“It has really gotten popular here in the last six-to-eight months, especially with young people, but you would be surprised at the number of adults doing it too,” wrestling coach Todd Davis said.
The team competition is slated for March 20. Teams can be comprised of two players, either coed or same sex. The top three teams will get Visa cash cards.
The tournament, which will be held indoors at the Union County gym will be double-elimination. The first team to reach 21 points wins. Registration is $25. Day of event is $30. Spectators can watch for free.
Funds raised will be used to hold a tournament at Union County next season.
“In order to hold a tournament you need additional clocks, stop watches, concessions and hospitality for coaches and referees,” Davis said. “If we make enough for the tournament we will reward the wrestling team and get them warmups.”
