Henry Buck Dawkins Sr.

A native of Newberry County, he was the husband of Bernice McMorris Dawkins of the home and son of Bennie Dawkins, Sr. of Union and the late Carrie Sims Dawkins.
He was a 1976 graduate of Union High School and a member of the Bethesda Baptist Church where he was a deacon. He was employed as a machine operator with CSX Transportation for 33 years.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Marvin Dawkins and his sister, Nancy Dawkins.
Survivors in addition to his wife and father include a daughter, Stephanie "Tap" Dawkins of Union; a son, Henry "Bucky" Dawkins, Jr. of Chicago, IL; one brother, Bennie Dawkins, Jr. of Union; two sisters, Janie Jeter and Hattie Thompson, both of Union; and a grandson, Zion Eison of Union.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Bethesda Baptist Church. Rev. Courtney Mills will officiate. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at noon. The family will receive friends at the home.
