JONESVILLE — Two incumbents are the first candidates to file for the Town of Jonesville’s April 13 municipal election.

Town Clerk April Smith said Wednesday that Betty Gault, a member of the Jonesville Water Commission, and Jonesville Town Council member Ann Queen have filed to run for re-election. They are the only candiates to file so far.

Mayor Ernest Moore and councilmen Danny Gregory, John Ray Fowler and Steve Thompson are also up for re-election in April.

To run for public office in Jonesville, a person must be a registered voter living within the town’s municipal limits and pay a filing fee. The fee for mayor is $55, for council $25 and for water commission $20.

Filing for the election opened Jan. 13 and will close at noon Feb. 7.
