A two-vehicle collision sent this 1990 Honda down an embankment on the Gaffney Highway on Thursday morning. L/Cpl. Freddy Loftis of the SC Highway Patrol said the accident occurred around 9:25 a.m. when a 2001 Dodge Neon struck the Honda at the intersection of the Gaffney Highway and SC Highway 114. Loftis charged the driver of the Neon, Tina Marie Blair, 117 Old Sawmill Road, Union, with failure to yield the right of way. The driver of the Honda, Chavis Marcel Sims, 319 Franklin St., Jonesville, was taken to Wallace Thomson Hospital, but Loftis said when he interviewed him there he seemed fine. Damage to the cars was estimated a $1,000 (Honda) and $2,000 (Neon).
