Getting into a fight is a good way to end up in jail, especially if you stab the person trying to break it up.

Brian Scott Henderson, 31, 302 Canal Road, Lockhart, is charged by the Union County Sheriff’s Office with assault and battery with intent to kill. Henderson was arrested at his home shortly before midnight Monday for allegedly stabbing a man twice a short time earlier. He was transported to the Union County Jail where he remained as of this morning.

Deputies were dispatched shortly before 9 p.m. in response to a report of a stabbing on North Second Street in Lockhart. When they arrived they found the victim lying on a bed bleeding from stab wounds in his back and left armpit. A witness told deputies he and the victim were in “The Flat” where Henderson and his brother were fighting. He said the victim went to try and break them up and they turned on him with Henderson pulling out a knife and stabbing him.

The deputies then went to Henderson’s home where they found him waiting to talk to them. They placed him under arrest and began taking statements. Upon further investigation, they learned another member of Henderson’s family had thrown the knife into the Lockhart Canal.

Capt. James McNeil said the investiation is continuing and more charges could be filed. He said Miller, who was airlifted to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, was treated and released as of this morning.

Club Incident

A fourth arrest has been made in connection with a Jan. 3 fight at a club on Maybinton Road.

Rodricus Jermaine Henderson, 20, 524 Edwards Road, Union, is charged by the sheriff’s office with assault and battery. Henderson, who was arrested Saturday, is the third person to be charged with assault and battery in the incident. Reco Danelle Tucker, 22, 125 Tucker Lane, and Tana Lashay Jeter, 21, 117 Cambridge St., both of Carlisle, were arrested on the charge Jan. 5.

Schavontee Glenn, 17, 129 West Main St., Apt. 204, Union, is charged by the sheriff’s office with criminal sexual conduct third-degree. Glenn, who was arrested Jan. 13, is accused of sexually assaulting a young wmoan during the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to the club in response to a report of 30 people fighting in the club’s parking lot. The caller who reported the fight said they also heard people involved in the fight talking about getting guns. Dispatch informed the deputies gunshots had been fired into the building through a window and another window had been broken.

The building had been rented by a woman who was throwing a party for her son. She and the building’s owner told deputies the trouble began when 10 males from Carlisle were asked to leave for causing a disturbance. They said once the Carlisle males were outside they began fighting. The owner said a short black male with dreadlocks was firing a gun. He and the woman said the males broke the windows and were kicking the door.

Deputies recovered a black Highpoint 9mm Model C9 handgun on the side of the road as well as two empty 9mm shell casings from in front of the club.

In the course of their investigation, deputies were told a young woman was sexually assaulted and she had left the scene. Deputies were unable to locate her but the next day a woman reported she was the one who had been assaulted. The woman said she was trying to break up the fight and accidentally got locked out of the club. She said she then got into a fight with one of the Carlisle males when she tried to stop him from kicking a door. The male then got a woman to jump on her and as she was fighting with her attacker the male pushed her face into the ground and then punched her causing her to black out.

It was while she was on the ground the woman said a second male sexually assaulted her.

Arrested While Being Booked

It was out of the frying pan and into the fire for a Union man found with drugs in his possession while being booked at the jail.

Ralph Allen Fleming, 42, 216 Kissy Creek Circle, Union, is charged by the sheriff’s office with possession of a controlled substance.

According to the sheriff’s office, Fleming was brought in to the jail Friday evening by a state trooper. As he was being booked, jailers discovered he had six blue pills wrapped in plastic in his right front pants pocket. The pills, which had “Mylan A1” on one side, are believed to be Xanax.

Incident

The following incident are being investigated by the sheriff’s office:

Shoved Into A Sofa

A woman’s claim her husband hit her and then repeatedly pushed her into a sofa is being investigated as a possible incident of criminal domestic violence.

The woman told the deputy dispatched to the Lockhart residence Monday evening her husband had “smacked” her in the mouth then took his hand, placed it on her face and neck to see how hard he could push it into their sofa. She said he did this five times.

The husband, however, said his wife was upset because of a rental house and started cursing him for no reason.

The deputy took statements from both parties and took pictures of the wife’s face but could see no signs of injury. Based on this, he reports he was unable to determine the facts of the case while on scene.
