A man and a woman are facing multiple drug charges following a raid by the Union Public Safety Department Thursday afternoon.

Nancy Dorean Thompson, 26, and Jerome Beasley III, both of 132 Eubanks St., are both charged with possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute; possession of crack cocaine with intent to distributed within proximity of a school; possession with intent to distributed marijuana; possession with intent to distribute marijuana within proximity of a school; possession of a controlled substance (Hydrocodone); possession of a controlled substance (Lorazepam); and possession of a controlled substance (Diazepam).

Acting on information that illegal drugs were located at an apartment at 219 South Church St. occupied by Beasley, public safety officers obtained and executed a search warrant around 12:30 p.m. Thursday. When they arrived, the officers found the apartment occupied by Beasley and Thompson. A search of the apartment turned up marijuana on Beasley and in a pocketbook in the front bedroom and in a chest of drawers in he back bedroom. Pills were also found in the chest of drawers.

Beasley is also charged with distribution of crack cocaine and distribution of crack cocaine within a half-mile of a school. He is charged with allegedly selling crack cocaine from the South Church Street apartment.

Beasley and Thompson were arrested and transported to the Union County Jail. Thompson was released on bond Friday but Beasley remained in custody.

Burglary

An officer was dispatched to a building at 217 Lakeside Drive in response to a report of a break-in.

The vicitim told the officer that sometime between 5 p.m. Wednesday and 10:30 Thursday someone had cut the lock off the gate to his property then drove onto the back lot.

While inside the thief of thieves stole a Jenn Air stove, wire that was cut from a fuse box and numerous windows.

The items stolen have an estimated value of $350.
