The Union County Recreation Department will be holding youth basketball registration through Dec. 4.
There will be two separate league: six-to-nine year olds and 10-to-12 year olds. Participants in the six-to-nine age group can not have turned 10 before Sept. 1, 2009. In the 10-to-12 age group, participants can not have turned 13 before Sept. 1, 2009.
Parents should have proof of health insurance and a birth certificate for child at time of registration.
The fee is $30. A late fee of an extra $10 will be charged after the Dec. 4 deadline.

RiverRats planning
team fund raiser
The RiverRats traveling baseball team will be selling team clothing and baked goods 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the School District Office.
The fund raised will help the team pay for expenses when the compete in the Global World Series in July.
Clemson Tiger Club
plans Chicken Roast
The Clemson Tiger Club of Union will host its annual Chicken Roast 5 p.m. Nov. 23 at Mon Eetna Baptist Church.
Held in anticipation of the Clemson vs. South Carolina football game, the event will feature Pete Yanity, voice of the Clemson Tigers. The Tiger mascot will make an appearance and there will be a catered meal by Park Lane Seafood. There will also be auction and raffles.
Tickets are $15 for adults; children 6-12 $8; five and under free. Deadline for tickets Nov. 16.

annual Tiger Burn
The Union County Gamecock Club will host Tiger Burn 2009 6 p.m. Nov. 23 at USC-Union’s Truluck Gym.
Dixie Girls fundraiser
currently underway
The Dixie Girls softball team is selling stadium cups to raised funds to help support the ballclub.
Cups, which are $12 for a pack of four, come in college, Major League Baseball or Christmas themes.
