ROEBUCK,SC — James Earl "Skip" Smith, 60, of 830 Blufton Dr., Roebuck, S.C., died Tuesday, Nov. 10, in Regional Hospice Home, Spartanburg.

Born in Jonesville, he was a son of Roberta Smith Crawford and the late James P. Smith, and was raised by his grandmother, the late Ruby Flowers.

He was a member of Foster Chapel Baptist Church in Jonesville. James was a 1967 graduate of Sims High School, and attended a college in Virginia, New York University, and graduated from City College, NY.

Surviving are two sisters, Patricia Johnson (Benjamin) of the home; and Christine Robinson of Charlotte; one brother, James F. Smith (Gloria) of New York; a cousin, Ralph Smith, of Spartanburg, raised in the home as a brother.

Services will be Sunday, 1:30 p.m., in Foster Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. W. E. Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. The body will be in the church Sunday at 1.
