According to Cindy Fore with Union County Veterans Affairs, the National Weather Service and Weather.com each are forecasting a 100 percent chance of rain Wednesday with gusty winds, prompting the decision to call off the parade.
The annual Veterans Day Program, however, will still start promptly at 11 a.m. Instead of it being held near the Veterans Memorial in downtown Union, though, it has been moved to the Union National Guard Armory. Fore said program participants should report to the armory by 10:30 a.m.
Anyone with questions can call Fore at the Veterans Affairs office at 429-1605.
