Jonesville was defeated 20-14 Thursday by Pacolet.

The Jonesville boys took an early lead on their first possession on a touchdown pass to Braylin Brown. The two point conversion was stopped inches short and the Wildcats led 6-0.

Pacolet then took over and scored on a hook and lateral on third down. The conversion was good and Pacolet led 8-6.

The score remained that way until halftime.  Pacolet got the scoring started in the second half on a pass to go up 14-6. Pacolet scored again on fourth down with a pass play.

The Wildcats tried to make it interesting when they scored on long touchdown pass from TJ Foster to Braylin Brown.  Foster converted the two points to put the score at 20-14.

The ensuing onside kick was recovered by Pacolet to end the game.

"It has been an interesting year to say the least,” coach Michael Mullinax said. “We have dealt with things this year that we had never had to deal with before. The kids stuck through it all. We played very hard for the last few games.

“Things just didn't fall our way,” he said. “All you can ask is to be in a position to win. We have been for the most part of the year, we just couldn't quit get there. I am proud of our kids.  We look forward to our seventh graders being eighth graders and wish the best of luck to our eighth graders."

Sims 8th grade

The Sims 8th grade football team lost to Boiling Springs Thursday 26-6.
