Union County Dragway will host a bracket race today.
Races include Pro Eliminator, Modified Eliminator, Street Legal and JR Dragster. Gates open at noon. Tickets are $10; children $3. The dragway is located at 178 Highway 215 Santue in Union.

Lady Jacket basketball
tryouts slated Nov. 2
Try-outs for the Lady Jackets Junior Varsity or Varsity Basketball Team are 3:40 to 5:15 p.m. Nov. 2.
Any female in seventh through 12th grades interested should receive a physical and turn the physical papers in to Mrs. Washington before try-outs. You can not try-out without first turning in your physical form. Those trying out must be at the school, dressed and ready to go by 3:40 p.m. Nov. 2.

Golf tournament will
benefit Jacket baseball
Union County High School Baseball Golf Tournament is set for 1 p.m. Oct. 24 at River Chase Country Club.
Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. Cost is $40 per person or $160 for a team of four. Lunch is included. First prize is $600 if 20 teams or more sign up to play.
You may pre-register anytime before Oct. 24 at River Chase Country Club. Proceeds go to the Yellow Jacket baseball program.
