“Our captains Jessica Hall, Meredith Walker and Megan Russell really stepped up,” coach Yonkeo Washington said. “I am pleased with their effort.”
Chapman won 25-17, 28-26 and 25-8; the Jackets won 25-21.
Hall had an ace, eight serve points, four digs, 18 blocks (including two kill blocks) and 10 kills; Walker had an ace, 10 serve points, eight blocks (including one kill block) and three kills; Megan Russell has 12 digs.
Morgan Walker had an ace, six serve points, four digs and 10 assists; Demisha Norman had four digs; Laytesha Porter had three serve points and four digs; Iyauna Gist had three digs; Tiffany Vaughan had an ace, four serve points, six digs and a kill; Hetti Millwood had five digs.
Next up, the Lady Jackets face Clinton Tuesday on the road.
“We are looking forward to finishing the season strong,” Washington said. “We want everyone to come out and support us during our last home game this season on October 22. We are asking our fans to wear pink in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness.”
