A Union woman is in jail after allegedly stabbing another woman Thursday afternoon.

Kristina Marie Gentle, 21, 201 North Boyce St., is charged by the Union Public Safety Department with assault and battery with intent to kill.

Officers were dispatched to a residence on Third Avenue shortly after 4 p.m. in response to a report of a stabbing. On the way, an officer found the victim at the intersection of Green Street and Lawson Avenue. The victim told officers that a girl by the name of Kristina stabbed her in the left of the back and ran down the street. The stabbing had occurred at a residence at 206 Third Avenue.

The Union County EMS was summoned to the scene and bandaged’ the victim’s wound but she did not go with them. She was transported to public safety to give a written statement.

Officers later found Gentle and transported here to public safety to get her state. After taking her statement and the victim’s officers charged Gentle and transported her to the Union County Jail where she remained as of Friday afternoon.
