MONTICELLO — The search continues today on Lake Monticello for a missing Union County man.

Shane Bledsoe, 34, was reportedly fishing with friends when he jumped in the lake to cool off around 7 p.m. Saturday.

When Bledsoe did not surface, a witness jumped in to help him but could not find him.

Rescue crews from Fairfield, Newberry and Union counties were called to the scene and searched for 10 hours on Sunday before calling off efforts Sunday night.

Cadaver dogs from Charleston were called in on Monday to assist in the search.

Bledsoe works for Henderson Plumbing and Mechanical Contractors Inc. in Union.
