When Bledsoe did not surface, a witness jumped in to help him but could not find him.
Rescue crews from Fairfield, Newberry and Union counties were called to the scene and searched for 10 hours on Sunday before calling off efforts Sunday night.
Cadaver dogs from Charleston were called in on Monday to assist in the search.
