Born in Union County, he was the son of Medora Glenn McBeth and the late Robert McBeth Sr. He was a 1977 graduate of Union High School and was a member of Mt. Calvery Baptist Church, Cross Keys, where he served on the steward board and the male choir. He was a U.S. Army veteran, retired from the Army reserve, and was employed with Wal-Mart Distribution Center, Laurens, for 20 years.
Surviving are his mother, Medora McBeth of Enoree; three brothers, Robert McBeth Jr., Matthew and Malachi McBeth, all of Cross Hill; three sisters, Bernetta (James) Smiley of Laurens, Vivian (Paul) Henry of Hawthorne, N.J., and Ann Dawkins of Enoree; his former wife, Sandra C. McBeth of the home, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Calvery Baptist Church, Cross Keys with burial in the church cemetery with military honors. The remains will be placed in the church at 12 noon to await the hour of service.
The family is at the home of his mother, 5214 Cross Keys Highway, Enoree, S.C., and his home, 202 Baldwin Circle Extension, Clinton, S.C.
