A Buffalo man has died from injuries he received in a motorcycle accident in Chester County on Labor Day.

Felix Gregory “Greg” Kirby, 50, of 110 Mill St. died Thursday in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

The wreck occurred on the evening of Sept. 7 in front of Broad River Mart on 4415 Pinckney Road near the Union County/Chester County line.

Chester County Coroner Terry Tinker could not be reached for comment about the details of the accident. According to the Chester News and Reporter, at the time of the wreck there were no EMS units in Chester available. An EMS unit from Richburg, about 30 miles away, was dispatched. A dispatch request was also sent to Union County, the Crossroads Fire Department and the Chester Rescue Squad. Union County EMS arrived first with two paramedics.

Kirby was transported by Union County EMS to the Disney Distribution Plant in Jonesville and then flown by helicopter to Spartanburg Regional.

A memorial service was held Saturday for Kirby at Buffalo United Methodist Church.
