WHITMIRE — The Lady Wolverines volleyball team have shown improvement on the court, but fell 3-0 to Mid-Carolina on Thursday.
Mid-Carolina won 25-10, 25-10 and 25-9.
“The Wolverines have shown that they are capable of playing the game,” said Whitmire coach Nicole Adams. “Even though they lost, the scores have been improving and that's what a coach looks for..
A stand-out player was Kentrel Whitmire.
“Kentrel stepped up to the plate and proved to her teammates, coach and most importantly to herself that she has a definite talent in the game of volleyball,” said Adams. “She has struggled in the past with her serving and last night was able to master it, what an accomplishment. She passed the ball directly to her target consistently and even showed power at the net with her hitting abilities.”
Whitmire (0-4) hosts Southside Christian on Monday.
