Perons needing help with Social Security, veterans benefits and other matters related to the federal government can get some assistance Friday from the staff of U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint.

A Constituent Service Day will be held in the community room of USC-Union from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. Mark Cothran, regional director for the Fourth Congressional District, Jessi Knight, grants coordinator, and Seth Blanton, constituent service representative, will be on hand to answer questions and assist Union County residents in dealing with the federal grants process, Social Security/disability matters, veterans benefits and other issues.

“We’re just trying to bring our office closer to Union,” Blanton said. “We will be there to discuss various federal programs. We will be there to help people who feel they are not getting the level of service out of the federal government that they need.”

Blanton said the service day will be a very informal affair and he urged anyone with a concern about the federal government to attend and voice those concerns.

For more information, contact Senator DeMint’s Greenville office at (864) 233-5366.
