Two people — including a Pauline man recently released from prison — have been arrested on drug charges.

Roland Ray Curtis, 50, of 122 Orin Graham Circle and Kathryn Parrish, 45, of the same address were charged Wednesday by the Union County Sheriff’s Office with possession of crack cocaine.

A report said officers set up surveillance in Jonesville and observed Curtis and Ms. Parrish make a narcotics transaction with an unknown man. They drove away in a Ford pickup truck and officers stopped them on S.C. 9. While speaking with the couple, officers noticed the passenger, Curtis, appeared to be hiding something under his left leg. Officers looked and found a quantity of crack.

Officers also confiscated two glass pipes commonly associated with smoking crack.

Curtis recently was released from prison after serving a six-month sentence for failure to pay child support. His photo was among several published in The Union Daily Times after a warrant was signed on him for failing to pay. Officers arrested him in Greenville.

According to records at the Child Support Services, Curtis still owes $14,447 in child support and $24,983 in alimony.

Teen arrested

A Spartanburg teen-ager is accused of breaking into a vehicle in August.

Deputies were called to the home on 2189 Jonesville-Lockhart Highway on Aug. 2. The victim said while his car was parked at this residence someone took his CD player face, two speakers and an amplifier. Damage to the car was estimated at $500 and the items stolen are worth $1,010.

Burglary reported

At Nixon Car Wash on 843 Main St., Buffalo, the owner reported that someone took around $700 worth of quarters from change machines mounted at the front of the business.
