Ten young women will compete for crowns and the chance to represent Union County Saturday.
The Miss Union and Miss Union Teen Pageant will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the USC-Union Auditorium. Admission is $15. Seating is limited.
Friday night, the Court of Queens Pageant will be held at 6:30 in the USC-Union Auditorium. Admission is $5; children 5 and under will be admitted free. Nineteen contestants age birth to 12 will compete.
The following are contestants in the Miss Union Pageant:
• Kaitlyn Wade, 18, of Union. Miss Wade’s talent will be a jazz dance. Her platform is “True Love Waits.”
• Hannah Caviness, 19, of Buffalo. Miss Caviness’ platform is “Physical Fitness and Nutrition.” Her talent is singing.
• Bailey Queen, 20, of Union. Miss Queen’s platform is “Save the Arts.” Her talent is a lyrical dance.
• Bethany Byrd, 17, of Union. Miss Byrd’s talent is playing the flute. Her platform is “Adoption Awareness.”
• Nan Gregory, 18, of Buffalo. Miss Gregory’s talent will be a monologue and her platform is “Cerebral Palsy Awareness.”
The contestants for Miss Union Teen are:
• Kyler Haskell, 13, of Williston. Miss Haskell’s talent is singing and her platform is “Childhood Obesity.”
• Deonica Thomas, 15, of Union. Miss Thomas’ talent is singing and her platform is “Teen Self Esteem.”
• Ashley LaPierre 16. Miss LaPierre will perform a clogging dance for her talent. Her platform is “Childhood Cancer.”
• Destiny Knox, 14, of Union. Miss Knox will perform a lyrical dance for her talent. Her platform is R.E.A.D.I.N.G.
• Madison Owens, 12, of Ware Shoals. Miss Owens will perform a jazz dance for her talent and her platform is “SPARKLE.”
