Lovic Booker, 25, of 4917 Old English Ave., pleaded guilty to two counts of distribution of crack cocaine. His sentence will run concurrently with a nine-month sentence he already is serving in the South Carolina Department of Corrections for resisting arrest. Booker began serving this sentence on April 3.
Booker was one of 30 people arrested in “Operation Spring Clean” on April 1. Warrants said Booker sold crack to an informant on the Duncan By-Pass on March 3 and on West Main Street on March 9.
Also on Wednesday, a man who exposed himself at the Union Carnegie Library was given a probationary sentence.
Frederick Jeter, 35, of 126 Perrin Ave., pleaded guilty to indecent exposure. He was sentenced to three years in prison suspended to two years of probation and he was ordered to get counseling for sexual deviancy.
In an unrelated matter, Jeter pleaded guilty to resisting arrest, a charge he garnered on June 8. He was sentenced to a year in prison and the sentence was suspended to two years of probation.
The exposure incident occurred on July 25 at the library on 300 East South St. A 48-year-old library patron told Officer Angela Cogdill that she was browsing the aisles looking for something to read when she came around the corner near the computers an saw Jeter seated at the first computer exposed.
She quickly walked down the next aisle and glanced between the books to be sure of what she had seen. The woman then advised a librarian, who called police.
Jeter was still at the library when Cogdill arrived. He was arrested and issued a trespass notice for the library.
The following people pleaded guilty Wednesday in General Sessions Court:
Amanda Hughey, Brown’s Creek Church Road, Union, to grand larceny over $1,000, four years suspended to 18 months of probation and $900 restitution; to two counts of possession of controlled substance, six months suspended to 18 months probation.
Jefferson Owens, 203 Partridge Road, to two counts of forgery and one count of financial transaction card fraud, five years suspended to 18 months probation, restitution of $225 and probation to terminate when restitution made.
Chad Phillips, 127 Toney Road, to distribution of cocaine and resisting arrest, youthful offender’s division sentence not to exceed six years, suspended to 18 months of probation.
