Officer Rusty Young with the Union Public Safety Department takes a break after helping to fight a house fire in 90-degree heat Tuesday afternoon. Kevin Smith and Roger Bailey (background) with the Southside Fire Department get water for other firefighters. Monarch Fire Department also was called to assist the city in the fire. The fire at the home of Deena Smith and her daughter, Ashley, on 101 North Enterprise St. was caused by a cooking accident. Deena Smith suffered burns on her hand and was transported to Wallace Thomson Hospital for treatment.
