Elizabeth Yvonne Thompson, 62, of 3013 Whitmire Highway, Union, died Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System.

Ms. Thompson was born in Union, June 6, 1947, a daughter of the late Edgar Earl Thompson and Pearl Sumner Thompson. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where she served as a nursery worker. Ms. Thompson formerly worked at Milliken & Co - Ottaray Plant. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Surviving are a son, Gary Lewis Thompson of the home; a daughter, Roxie Dianna Gilliam of Pacolet; a niece, Renea Fulcher of Fla.; two nephews: Ricky Thompson and Phillip Thompson, both of Union; and a sister-in-law, Elaine Thompson of Union.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2009, at the SR Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by the Rev. Robert Chapman. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be Ricky Thompson, Phillip Thompson, John Lowe, Gilbert Smith Jr, Monroe Smith and Kent Smith.

Visitation will be held from 7-9 Thursday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.
