To the editor:

The Union County Foster Parent Association would like to thank the citizens of Union County and those from Spartanburg and Greenville that participated in The Sheltering Arms Half Marathon Saturday July 4th.

We would also like to thank each sponsor; Big Daddy’s BBQ, Littlejohn Farms, Hebron Baptist Church, Brad Morris, Terry Mitchell Builders, Union Family Pharmacy, Carter’s Auto, Quality Satellite, Austin Rehab, In & Out Oil Change, Union Construction Company, Lewis Funeral Home, Union Civitan Club, WBCU Radio, Little Angels Portrait Studio and Outreach Deliverance Church.

A big thanks to each volunteer that gave their time. Without the volunteers getting up early on a hot & humid holiday morning we would not have been able to have such a successful event. There are numerous foster children here in Union that will be allowed to have things they need because so many of you gave your money, time and love to support them.

Also, we would like to say thank you to Midway BBQ for donating a portion of their sales to the Foster Parent Association on May 13. This was also a very successful event that has allowed foster children here in Union to be taken care of without burdening the foster parents that have so graciously taken them into their homes.

Again, thank you to everyone who has donated to the Union County Foster Parent Association in honor of our foster children.
