It is not often that people reach out and help others without wanting to be recognized. However, great appreciation and sincere thanks goes out to a group of anonymous donors who saved the Child Lunch Program for the Town of Carlisle.
We are all aware that economic conditions have led to budget restraints and funding cuts. The Town of Carlisle was affected by these funding cuts when the YMCA was not able to sponsor the town’s Child Lunch Program. These cuts meant that many children in the town would not be afforded a nutritious lunch during the summer months. After reading an article in The Union Daily Times pertaining to this matter, several concerned citizens donated $1,875 to sponsor the program to provide lunch to children who otherwise may not have received a nutritious meal.
I am reminded of a passage of scripture that says in part, “Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven ... But when you do a charitable deed ... May it be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.”
Our hope is that all our anonymous donors who donated to the Town of Carlisle Child Lunch Program be rewarded openly for your acts of love, kindness and concern. We sincerely thank you!
