Ricky Rice (4-0) was the winning pitcher. Bubba Means finished the game. Union pitchers gave up three hits and recorded seven strikeouts.
Rice was 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs; Avion Carter was 1-for-1 with an RBI; Dillon Rodgers was 1-for-1 with two walks; Taylun Wallace was 1-for-2 with an RBI; Jamal Rice drove in the two runs that finished the game; Markeem Dawkins was 1-for-1 with an RBI; Means was 1-for-2 with 3 RBIs and two walks.
It was the ninth straight victory for the junior team, which improves to 12-3, 9-3 and first in the region. Union hosts Rock Hill at 7 tonight at the old Jonesville High School field.
The team finishes the regular season with a double-header on Wednesday against Gaffney at Union County Stadium. Two wins will clinch first for Union. The playoffs begin July 6.
