There is no charge for potential Miss South Carolina and Miss South Carolina Teen contestants. For all others, the cost is $35. Those participating may attend pageant preliminaries that evening at 7 at Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium. They will have free tickets, reserved seats and will be recognized that night as honored guests.
Amanda Ferguson, local executive director of the Miss Union and Miss Union Teen pageants, said she hopes girls will take advantage of this opportunity. She said attending the school does not obligate a girl to participate in a pageant.
Presenters will include Anna Perry, Miss South Carolina 2009; Taylor Fitch, Miss South Carolina Teen from July 5 to Aug. 16, 2008 and Miss America’s Outstanding Teen in 2009; and Courtney Cisson, Miss South Carolina Teen from Aug. 16, 2008 to July 4, 2009.
Topics will include “Poise/Posture/Presentation, Speech/Mike/ Projection/Interview, Pageant Wear, Diet/Exercise/Makeup/Hair.
Miss South Carolina contestants must be between the ages of 17 and 24,
Teen contestants must be between the ages of 13 and 17.
