Andrea Lane, Stephanie Jennings and Stephen Jennings were the only three members of the Class of 2009 who achieved this goal. They were among just 72 seniors in South Carolina who graduated with perfect attendance.
All three admitted there were plenty of days they wanted to stay home from school.
“Migraines, viruses, I was there,” Andrea said.
Stephanie and Stephen weren’t allowed to participate in Senior Skip day. Instead, their mother told them they were going to “skip right on to school.”
Their accomplishment is a tribute not only to these students’ perseverance, but to the support of their parents, who made sure their were in school every day.
When it comes time for these three to enter the job market, their achievement may provide an edge — however slight — with a prospective employer who is looking for dependable workers. In these tough economic times, any advantage helps.
Congratulations
