B.J. House had two hits for Timken.


The Elks defeated Timken 10-7 on Monday in the opening game of the Dixie Youth City Championship.

Shemar Glenn was the winning pitcher with eight strikeouts. He also had three hits, including a home run.

Catorian Smith, Douglas Brannon and Michael McCants each had two hits; Rakeem Glenn, Cameron Stevens, and Dancourius Glenn each had a hit for The Elks.

Trevor Duckett pitched for Timken. Will Palmer was 4-for-4; B.J. House and Caleb Henderson each had two hits; Duckett and Landon Livingston each had a hit.

The Elks have a 1-0 lead in the best-of-3 series, which continues at 7 tonight at the Dixie Youth Complex.
