Monsoon season arrived Thursday afternoon — or at least it appeared that way. Rain fell in heavy downpours throughout the night and into this morning, but caused little damage. Minor flooding occurred on some roads and the S.C. Department of Transportation reported a couple of trees fell. At Foster Park the drainage ditch was nearly overflowing this morning. As much as 2.8 inches of rainfall was recorded during the last 24 hours, according to the National Weather Service. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue through this evening before skies clear. Sunshine returns on Saturday, with highs in the 80s. (Graham Williams/Times)
