To the editor:

During a tragic event in ones life, you would naturally expect family and close friends to come along side and give love and support. But what the Scott family has experienced in recent months in the small town of Union has been unbelievable.

There are absolutely no words to express what we’ve felt as we have been taken under the wings of the citizens of this town. The outpouring of support and love has been, quite frankly, hard to grasp. God truly is in the hearts of so many people in this town, and that has been expressed to us so generously as we struggled through Will’s illness and death.

Billy and I felt led to go public with this thank you, as we cannot possibly thank everyone personally who has given to us in big and small ways. And the wonderful stories that this newspaper has written on behalf of our son has brought this community together as one big family.

Please know that we are changed forever, not only by Will’s experience, but also because of Union County’s citizens. God bless you, and thank you so much.
