Break-ins, thefts reported

The Union County Sheriff’s Office is investigating thefts and break-ins at three different residences reported since Friday.

On 517 Summit Drive, Lockhart, a victim told Cpl. Jared Gilstrap Friday that someone broke into a storage building and took a rolling step ladder, post hole diggers, a pitchfork, a Sloughforce rolling tool box, a square kerosene heater, a red 10-speed bike, a saw blade clock and a bench grinder. These are worth $835.

On 340 Deepwater Road, a victim told Deputy Roger Hill on Saturday that someone took a Honda ATV from behind his house. It is worth $4,500.

Sunday, a victim on 224 Neal Shoals Road told Deputy Scott Coffer that someone broke into her home and took a rented dryer worth $300 and five rings worth $1,500.
