To the editor:
To God be the glory. Through the donations of our sponsors and our patrons we were able to donate to the Salvation Army $350 to be given to four households of unemployed families of $75 each for utility assistance. Also, through the attendance of the play given (Evening with Grandma’s Family) we were able to give Union County Adult Education $700 to go toward the GED/Certified Nursing Assistant program.
I would like to thank the cast for their hard work and dedication; without you the play would not have been a success. I would like to thank anyone else who helped me in any way to meet a vision that the Lord has put on my heart to help someone.
I humbly ask that each church family lift up the unemployed — not only in Union County — each Sunday in special prayer. If you know of someone who is unemployed, please give them an encouraging word when you see them. We are our brothers’ keepers, thus says the Lord.
I would like to thank The Union Da1ily Times for publicizing the play. I would like to thank Channel 14 (Melissa Youngblood) for the TV publicity. God bless you for your caring efforts.
If anyone is interested in giving a donation, please contact Mary Owens. Copies of the play “Evening with Grandma’s Family” can be purchased at the City of Union Municipal Building, Channel 14 office, for $5.
God bless Union Countians.
