Public safety officers were called to handle fights at a Union apartment complex several times Thursday, resulting in six arrests.
Those arrested included:
— A 16-year-old boy who was charged with trespassing after notice.
— Malcolm Jalmar Harris, 21, of 1111 Marigold Drive, Union, who was charged with assault and battery.
— Denise Harris, 43, of 102 Standpipe St., who was charged with drawing in affray.
— Joshua Ray Stephens, 18, of 128 Dana Tara Lane, who was charged with disorderly conduct/fighting.
— Vicki Lynn Boulware, 39, of 1111 Lakeside Drive, who was charged with drawing in affray and assault and battery
— A 15-year-old girl who was charged with disorderly conduct.
Officers initially were called to Lakeside Manor Apartments on 1111 Lakeside Drive around 10 p.m. after it was reported people were fighting. They found several people being disorderly. Cpl. Tommy Hart advised the 16-year-old boy he was being put on trespass notice for all Union Housing Authority Property and the boy signed the notice. Hart advised the boy he needed to leave and not come back.
A short time later, officers were called back. They were advised the boy had come back and caused a disturbance. County deputies found the boy at Humphries Mobile Home Park on Peach Orchard Road with Malcolm Harris . Hart went there, asked the boy if he had gone back to Lakeside Manor and the boy admitted he had. He was arrested and taken to the Union Public Safety Department.
During the investigation, Hart spoke with a 19-year-old girl who said that Malcolm Harris approached where she was and started arguing with another person. She tried to get Harris to leave and he slapped her on the right side of her face, causing redness. Malcolm Harris was arrested.
Officers were on their way to headquarters when they were called back to the apartments. Two women said Denise Harris had come to the area waving a butcher knife. She was arrested.
A short time later, officers were called yet again to the apartments after it was reported people were fighting.
They were told about 20 people had been involved, including Joshua Stephens and several of the Harris relatives. While Hart was investigating, PFC Eddie Williams arrested Stephens for being loud, boisterous and cursing even after being told to calm down and being given a chance to go into his apartment.
The report said Ms. Boulware had been hitting and choking someone during the fight and later went into her apartment and got a kitchen knife.
Man arrested
Jasper Jennings III, 29, of 107 Gage Ave., Union, was charged Thursday by the Union County Sheriff’s Office with breach of trust with fraudulent intent and giving false information to police.
Arrest warrants signed by Lt. Terry Humphries and a report by Deputy Russell Roark said Jennings sold his 1991 Honda to another man and told him to pick it up at Gilliam Enterprises on 101 Henry Lane. Anthony Gilliam had repaired the car — including the right door, front end and replaced the headlights.
Gilliam knew nothing of the sale and thought the Honda had been stolen. Jennings left Gilliam with a $750 repair bill.
When questioned about the vehicle, Jennings denied knowing the whereabouts of the car.
