— Donnie Eison, 26, of 317 Eisontown Road, Jonesville, pleaded guilty to failure to stop for a blue light and possession of Ecstasy, second offense. His sentence will run concurrently with a 12-year sentence Eison received on Feb. 4 for a Spartanburg County trafficking crack cocaine charge.
A report said Lt. John Sherfield with the sheriff’s office and Investigator Mickey Parker with the Union Public Safety Department were on patrol when they saw a 2007 Dodge Charger traveling south on U.S. 176 at approximately 70 mph in a 45 zone. As the officers pulled in behind the vehicle to perform a traffic stop, the car pulled into the parking lot of Arthur State Bank. The officers pulled into the parking lot beside this vehicle. The officers got out of their vehicle and saw Eison was the driver of the silver Charger.
Eison then started his car and sped away from the officers. They saw him throw two plastic bags to the pavement.
The Dodge then entered the by-pass and headed north. Sherfield and Parker pursued with the blue light and siren activated on their vehicle. The report said both Eison’s and the officers’ speed reached 85 mph.
Eison turned left onto Sardis Road and then right onto McClure Street. He stopped in the driveway of a residence and Eison got out and headed toward the door. He was taken into custody.
Officers found an Ecstasy pill wrapped in plastic hidden in the center console of the car. In the bank parking lot, Sherfield and Parker found a quantity of crack cocaine wrapped in a plastic bag and another empty plastic bag. The crack was estimated to weigh approximately one gram.
— Derek Thompson, 28, of 100 Wallace St., Union, pleaded guilty to two counts of distribution of crack, third or more offense. He was given five year sentences to run concurrently on each charge.
Arrest warrants signed by Parker said Thompson sold crack to undercover operatives on McBeth Street on Nov. 19 and on Wallace Street on Nov. 23.
Two counts of distribution of crack within proximity of a school were dropped as part of Thompson’s plea bargain.
