GREENVILLE — A Union man has been found guilty on federal drug charges in a case made by the public safety department and the Union County Sheriff’s Office.

Adrian Hall, 21, of 103 Lovers Lane Road, was convicted of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of a firearm while trafficking drugs and of being a felon in possession of a firearm. He will be sentenced later by Judge Ross Anderson.

Due to Hall’s prior criminal record, the case was taken to federal court by the Greenville Office of the United States Attorney and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.

On Jan. 18, 2008, Investigator Mickey Parker received a tip that Hall was on Foster Street driving a black Chevrolet Tahoe. Parker knew that Hall had a suspended driver’s license. Parker was riding with Lt. John Sherfield with the sheriff’s office. They advised Sgt. Kevin Powers and Lt. David Kitchens to also patrol the area.

Kitchens spotted the Tahoe and advised the other officers of Hall’s direction of travel. Officers got behind the Tahoe and Hall eventually stopped at a residence on Arthur Boulevard. Hall was arrested.

Parker found a bag of marijuana in the vehicle. Sherfield found a loaded .38 caliber Colt revolver under the rear seat and more .38 ammunition.

There were passengers in the vehicle, but Hall claimed all of the items as his.
