School Superintendent Dr. David Eubanks said the forum will be held in Room 600 of Union County High School Career and Technology Center. He said the purpose of the forum will be to discuss issues affecting the student population of Union County and the community. Topics discussed will include teen pregnancy, drop-outs, gang violence and drugs.
“Our desire is to simply expose and discuss issues that impact the school system and seek avenues through which we can improve in the manner in which we address these issues,” he said. “Many of the issues we will discuss are not simply school problems, they are issues that begin in the community and thus impact our students at school.”
Sheriff David Taylor, Union Public Safety Director Sam White, ministers and other representatives from local churches as well as educators will discuss these problems and answer questions.
