UNION — The Union County High School Band Aid Club is asking the community to tee off to help The Sting Machine.

On Saturday, April 13, the Union County High School Band — which has been affectionately known as The Sting Machine for decades — and its parent-member support group — the Band Aid Club — is hosting the first-ever Sting Machine Golf Tournament at River Chase Golf Club.

The entry fee is $45 per golfer, and everyone is invited to come enjoy free lunch, cash prizes, merchandise give-aways from local businesses and lots of fun.

Band members are currently selling sponsorship signs to be placed on the golf course at $25 for silver sponsorships and $50 for gold sponsorships. When a band member raises funds, half of the money goes to the Band Aid Club and the other half goes into a personal account for that band member and will be used toward the cost of band camp.

“The Band Aid Club raises funds to buy instruments, transportation, food and other necessities for students — not just during marching season, but during indoor and winter guard seasons as well,” said Band Aid Club President Mark. “Our goal is to make sure that every child who wants to be a member of the band has that opportunity.”
