Lockhart Power a vital partner

To the editor:

Lockhart Power was busy in 2012.

To celebrate its 100th year in service, Lockhart Power spent the entire year supporting our city’s events, including the Union Relay for Life, Business After Hours, the Uniquely Union Festival, and the Union County Fair. This enthusiastic involvement was not the end of their contributions, however.

To symbolize their 100 years, they planted 100 trees around the area. The “Welcome to the City of Union” sign was landscaped with 25 cedar, redwood, and “green giant” evergreen trees, and the Sims school received 11 oak trees. This vast service project is something that everyone in the community will benefit from, for when we enhance our city we will surely attract more visitors and possibly even more businesses.

Lockhart Power has been a vital partner for 100 years, and I know they will continue to support our community for at least another 100.

Harold Thompson, Mayor

City of Union
