To the editor:

This month Lockhart Power is ending their 100th year of business. I am thankful for this company that used their anniversary year to give back to our community.

Lockhart Power planted 100 trees in its service area, and 13 of those were right here in the Town of Lockhart. Eleven oak trees are spread throughout the town, and two flowering trees have been planted right outside of our Town Hall. Lockhart Power also sponsored the Lockhart Christmas Parade and brought cake for all to share!

I am proud that Lockhart Power has called our town home for a century, and glad that the company is proud of its town as well. It serves as a source of jobs, a necessary service provider and an asset to the community. Just as my heart is locked here, I know Lockhart Power’s is too. We wish Lockhart Power well for the next 100 years.”
