UNION — James L. Walton, 65, 148 Sedgefield Drive, died Feb. 13, 2013. A native of Union, he was the husband of Ruby Gregory Walton of the home and the son of the late Ada Mae Walton. He was reared in the home of his late grandmother, Bessie Mae Walton Harris.

He was a member of Monarch Baptist Church, a 1966 graduate of Sims High School, and worked for Cone Mill — Carlisle Finishing Plant.

Survivors in addition to his wife include one son, Donald Wayne Walton of Marietta, GA; one daughter, Tracie Walton Dinkins of Fairburn, GA; his twin brother, Jesse Walton of Charlotte, N.C.; his brother, Michael Walton of Alexandria, VA; three sisters, Mary Lee Jeter of Jamaica, NY, Rose McClain of Winnsboro, S.C., and Curtiss Ann Hunter of Union, S.C.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013 at 3 p.m. at Monarch Baptist Church with Burial in Saint Paul Society Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home. Public viewing will be Saturday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
