UNION — James Crosby, Sr., 84, 698 Santuc Drive, died Feb. 7, 2013.

A native of Fairfield County, he was the husband of Lois Mae Owens Crosby of the home and the son of the late Sam and Sallie Feaster Crosby. He was a member and deacon of Hassion Hill Baptist Church of Blair and also attended Bethesda Baptist Church. He was retired from Cone Mills — Carlisle Finishing Plant.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Lee Crosby and seven brothers and one sister.

Survivors in addition to his wife include three sons, James (Rose) Crosby, Jr., Johnny Edward (Wanda) Crosby, and Clyde Mack (Juanita) Crosby, all of Santuc; four daughters, Mary Jane (John) Cheek, Lucille (Terry, Sr.) Epps, and Shirley Ruth (Clarence) Flemming, all of Santuc, and Sally (Ben) Little of Union; three brothers, Dr. Tom (Deloris) Crosby of Irmo, David (Polly) Crosby of Union, and Ervin Crosby of Santuc; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services celebrating the life of James Crosby, Sr. will be held Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Bethesda Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and at other times at the home.
