To the editor:

Tuesday evening the Union County Chamber of Commerce held its annual meeting and awards banquet. A number of individuals and businesses were acknowledged for their contributions in make Union County a great place to live and work.

Once again I would like to congratulate all those who were recognized and also say thank you to a number of others. Thank you, Tabernacle youth, for providing the musical entertainment and serving the meal. And thank you, Ralph Lawson, for allowing them the extra time away from the dress rehearsal. Also, thank you, Boy Scout Troop 42 and Troop 124, and the Sims Junior Beta Club for all your help. We have a tremendous number of good young people in Union County and my hats off to them and their leaders.

I would also like to thank Mayor Thompson and the City of Union for allowing Channel 14 to filming the program. Melissa Youngblood and Tim McFalls do a great job and put forth a tremendous amount of effort in filming and editing these programs. Thanks to them others in the community can share in our celebration.

I would also like to thank you, Graham Williams, Anna Brown and The Union Daily Times for your excellent coverage of the event. You always go above and beyond to cover this event and other similar events that honor those who make significant contributions to the community.
