The Union Public Safety Department reported the following arrest:

— David Lee Pecor, 31, of 104 Spring Street, Union, was charged with third-degree burglary, petit larceny and attempting to obtain money under false pretenses. According to arrest warrants, Pecor broke into McBeth Baptist Church — located at 105 Lawson Ave. in Union — between Jan. 8-9. Warrants state that Pecor took, stole and carried away several business checks from the church checkbook, and the checks had already been signed. Around 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 9, Pecor attempted to cash a check for approximately $3,300 at Arthur State Bank. Warrants state that Pecor presented the check to the bank teller, stating that it was payment for work he had done at the church. The teller advised him that she could not cash the check because it needed two signatures but only had one. Pecor left the bank and was arrested around 1:50 p.m.

The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrest:

— Rusty Shane Jeter, 25, of 143 East Lee Street, Union, and Robert Lee Gilliam, 65, of 132 Sims Drive, Union, were charged with possession of crack cocaine after a narcotics officer served a search warrant at Gilliam’s residence around 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 9.

— Silmario Deantwon Coleman, 25, of 100 Hodge Street, Union, was charged with simple possession of marijuana and distribution. According to the incident report, officers stopped to talk with Coleman about a separate incident around 11:59 a.m. on Jan. 9, and a deputy observed Coleman as he threw something under his patrol car. The deputy found a small baggie of plant-like material believed to be marijuana. The baggie and a “partially smoked blunt” Coleman had on his person were seized.
