The Union Public Safety Department reported the following incident:

— Officers responded to Glitter & More, located at 225 East Main Street, Union, around 4:59 p.m. on Jan. 8. The owner locked the business on Jan. 4, and she did not return until Jan. 8. When she returned, she noticed the cash register had been turned around and opened. She also noticed a mess behind the counter where product had been thrown on the floor. A part of the register that contains change was left by the door with only the pennies remaining. An officer noticed that the locking mechanism on the rear door appeared to have been pried. An investigator responded and processed the scene for evidence.

The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrest:

— Clyde Stanley Boyle, 55, of 142 Mitchell Road in Union, was arrested for criminal domestic violence Jan. 9. According to the incident report, officers responded to the residence around 1:17 a.m. after receiving a call from a third party. The victim stated that Boyle pushed her and slapped her about the face several times before officers arrived, and a small child in the residence was awakened.

The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following incident:

— A resident of Henry Lane in Union reported around Jan. 8 that his medication was stolen from his mailbox. According to the incident report, the victim stated he found the mail envelope his medication should have been in, but it was torn open and the bottle was missing.
