During the ceremony Taylor was sworn in, the deputies, reserve deputies, jailers and administrative staff of the sheriff’s office were also sworn in.
The swearing-in of government officials continues today at 2 p.m. at the Carlisle Town Hall when Gault will swear in Mayor Mary Ferguson-Glenn and town council members Ronnie “Motorcar” Lyles and Maxine Spencer. Once they are sworn in, Ferguson will begin her second term as mayor while Lyles and Spencer will begin their fourth and third terms, respectively.
