UNION — Mr. Murrell Keith White, 82, husband of Sara Smith White, 305 Wilson St., Union, passed away Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013 at Wallace Thomson Hospital after a brief illness.
Mr. White was born in Jonesville, Oct. 6, 1930, a son of the late Thomas Clyde White and Eva Caroline Gregory White. He was retired from Milliken and Co., and was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War. Mr. White was a member of Union Masonic Lodge #75 and was a member of Duncan Acres United Methodist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Sara W. (Beth) Cudd of Union; a son, Michael K. White and wife Linda of Houston, TX; four sisters, Lee Ila Pearson and Patty Hoyle and husband Joe Dean, all of Pacolet, Doris White of Jonesville and Marguarite Harvey of Union; two brothers, Thomas C. White and wife Leoma of Spartanburg and Lewis White of Pacolet; three granddaughters, Leah C. Robinson and husband Jesse of Union, Megan Cudd of Greenwood and Lexi Robinson of Union; two stepgranddaughters, Angie Miller of Houston, TX, and Andrea Self of Lovelace, OH; two stepgrandsons: Zachery Miller and Joshua Miller of Houston, TX; and a number of nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 at Duncan Acres United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Merritt Wentz. Burial will be at New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Phil Robinson, Dean Robinson, Mickey White, Carol Scoggins, Jeff Sweatt, and Tim Sweatt.
Visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. prior to the services at the church.
