“This is the major fund-raiser for the Union Civitan Club, whose mission is to provide services and support to individuals with disabilities in Union County,” said Civitan Club member Lou Stackhouse
This year, because of funds generated by Pancake Day and other sources, a dance class was offered for special needs children at Elaine’s School of Dance.
Also, birthday celebrations were held for each person served by the Union County Disabilities and Special Needs Board residential programs.
Pancake Day will be held in the Mon-Aetna Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Breakfast will be served from 7-9 a.m., lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and supper from 5-7 p.m. The meal is all you can eat with pancakes, bacon, sausage, orange juice, coffee and milk. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under.
“We look forward to the ongoing support of Union County for the Union Civitan Club and we know it will be a great turnout,” Mrs. Stackhouse said. “We couldn’t hold the event without the sponsorships of business and individuals.”
Tickets may be purchased at the door or in advance at WBCU, the Union County Arts Council or from any Civitan Club member. For more information, call 427-7700.
