UNION – Two juveniles at Sims Middle School were charged with drug offenses on Dec. 21 after they were observed buying and selling pills in the school.

According to a report from the Union County Sheriff’s Department, a clear bag containing five pills, a bag containing four more pills and a piece of plastic containing what appeared to be synthetic marijuana was found in the shoe of one of the juveniles.

The juvenile also had a cigarette pack containing what appeared to be a partial marijuana cigarette, a lighter and three $1 bills. The other juvenile was holding a pill he said he bought from the other juvenile.

The first juvenile was charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a prescription drugs, distribution of a prescription drug, distribution of a prescription drug within a half mile of a school, possession of a Schedule I narcotic and distribution of prescription drugs to a person under age 18. He was released to his mother. The second juvenile was charged with purchasing a prescription drug and purchasing a prescription within a half mile of school. He was released to his mother.

Department of Juvenile Justice complaints were signed on both, according to the report.

The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests:

– Kimberly Diane Shetley, 41, of 111 Buffalo Creek Ranch Road, Union, was charged with breach of peace. According to the incident report, officers responded to Shetley’s house on Dec. 22 to a report of a disturbance and found her visibly upset with her boyfriend. Officers could not get Shetley to calm down and arrested her for breach of peace.

– Labarius Bardrekies Hill, 32, of 138 Birch St., Jonesville, was charged with simple assault, public drunk and driving under suspension. According to the incident report, Hill went to the home of another man around 4 a.m. Dec. 22 and began kicking the door and causing a disturbance. During an ensuing argument, Hill tried to assault him so the man threw something at Hill, missed and busted out the window of Hill’s vehicle. Hill then threatened to leave and return with a gun to shoot him. Officers were unable to get written statements from the victim or another witness due to their intoxicated state.

– Jesse Dakota Luttner, 18, of 3734 Buffalo Westsprings Highway, Buffalo, was charged with simple possession of marijuana. According to the incident report, Luttner was stopped around 10 p.m. Dec. 22 in the 100 Block of Hames Avenue in Jonesville after officers saw him cross over the centerline after turning and make a turn without using a turn signal. When the officers asked Luttner for his license, they noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. When asked by the officers if there was any marijuana in the vehicle, he handed over small bag of marijuana.

– Robert Victor Dillard Jr., 39, 1208 Linersville Road #8, Buffalo, was charged with driving under suspension. According to the incident report, officers were conducting a license check on Dec. 22 on South Jonesville Highway near Poplar Road when it was determined that his driver’s license was suspended. The car was released to another passenger.

– Thomas Earl Littlejohn Jr., 31, of 611 Dogwood Circle, Pacolet, was charged with driving under suspension, no proof of insurance and expired tag. According to the incident report, deputies were conducting a license check on Dec. 22 on S.C. 18 when they saw a vehicle turn around on Arrowhead Circle. After stopping the vehicle, deputies determined Littlejohn’s license was suspended, the vehicle’s tag was expired and he didn’t have any insurance.

– Charles Edward Dawkins Jr., 40, of 1044 Neal Shoals Road, #8, was charged open container. According to the incident report, officers saw a car parked on the side of S.C. 176 near Vernon Foster Road around 4:43 a.m. Dec. 23. Dawkins was a passenger in the vehicle and had an open container of beer sitting between his feet. He also had two outstanding warrants.

– Terry Lee Lawson, 53, of 221 Glenn Springs Road, Pacolet, was charged with simple possession of marijuana and public intoxication. According to the incident report, a deputy saw Lawson sitting on the sidewalk in the 1000 Block of West Main Street around 12:20 a.m. Dec. 25, holding the back of his head. Lawson told the officer he had been drinking. While he was being processed at the jail, deputies discovered he had marijuana hidden in cigar wrappers.

– Jimmy Arthur Rhinehart Jr., 44, of 216 Raymond Road, Union, was charged with breach of peace. According to the incident report, Rhinehart came home intoxicated around 10:30 a.m. Dec. 25 and caused a disturbance. He also damaged a vehicle parked in the front yard of the residence.

– Harold Dean Sinclair III, 20, of 116 Old Shetley Place, Union, was charged with criminal domestic violence/simple assault and resisting arrest. According to the incident report, deputies were sent to the residence in response to a domestic disturbance around 5 a.m. Dec. 28 but were flagged down by Sinclair before they arrived at the house. Sinclair told deputies that he and a female had been arguing but that no one had been assaulted. The female told the officers that Sinclair had choked her. The female had bruises on her neck. Sinclair then ran and refused to stop. He was found inside the house and arrested.

– Ronnie Palmer, 53, of 415 C St., Jonesville, was charged with breach of peace. According to the incident report, officers responding to a disturbance call on South Gate Drive in Union found Palmer was refusing to leave the home. Palmer was on active trespass notice from the South Gate Drive residence.

The Union County Sheriff’s Office reported the following incidents:

– A resident of Pineland Road in Union reported Dec. 21 that someone had tried to get into his home through a back door. Nothing was reported missing.

– A scrapyard in Union reported Dec. 12 that a 2000 Toyota Camry that appeared operational was brought to the business to be scrapped. The VIN number on the vehicle indicated the vehicle had been sold and that there was a lien on it. An investigator signed a warrant charging the person who brought the car to the business with disposal of property under lien. The car was valued at $700.

– The City of Union reported Dec. 21 that a resident of Sims Drive in Union had been stealing electrical power by connecting a set of jumper cables to the main power box. The power had been turned on Oct. 26. The estimated value of the power use was $2,000.

– A house on Maybinton Road in Whitmire was destroyed by fire on Dec. 21. Damage was estimated at $45,000.

– A resident of Sunny Acres Road in Union reported on Dec. 22 that several items had been stolen from his home between Aug. 1 and the date of the report. The victim told officers he believed his neighbor was responsible because he saw some of his property on the man’s back porch. When the man confronted his neighbor, the man exposed a gun under his shirt and warned the victim to stay off his property. Items listed missing included electronics valued at $550, vehicle parts valued at $800, tools valued at $210 and miscellaneous items valued at $100. The victim told officers he didn’t report the theft initially because he thought family members might have taken the items from the home.

– A resident of Sardis Road in Union reported Dec. 22 that someone busted out the front glass to her store and removed two cash registers containing $100.

– A resident of Happy Valley Road in Union reported Dec. 24 that she arrived home from work around midnight and found the side door of her home standing open. A television valued at $500 and $15 in change was reported taken along with a debit card. Officers said it looked like the door had been unlocked using a credit card or driver’s license.

– A resident of Riley Road in Buffalo reported Dec. 24 that he had received harassing text messages and Facebook messages from another man.

– A resident of Pineland Road in Union reported Dec. 22 that someone broke into her home between Dec. 22 and Dec. 24 through a side window and stole a Vizio Tablet, Mini Notebook Laptop, 20-inch flat television set and Wii game and controller. The items were valued at $800.

– A resident of Haywood Street in Buffalo reported Dec. 25 that two tires on his vehicle were cut when it was parked in the 900 Block of Rice Avenue Extension in Union. The incident occurred between 1 a.m. and 5 p.m. Dec. 25. Damage was estimated at $300.

– A resident of Rain Bow Lane in Jonesville reported Dec. 26 that his debit card had been stolen and used at different locations in Union County.

– A resident of Peach Orchard Road in Union reported Dec. 26 that a camera and two shirts were stolen from her vehicle between 10:30 p.m. Dec. 25 and noon Dec. 26 while it was parked on Old Union Road in Lockhart. The camera was valued at $600 and the clothes were valued at $40.

– A silver Tank moped valued at $1,000 was found Dec. 26 in the 200 Block of Sardis Road in Union. The moped was taken back to the Union County Sheriff’s Office.

– A resident of Lockhart Highway in Union reported Dec. 27 that someone had broken into his home between 1 p.m. Dec. 23 and 5 p.m. Dec. 27 and stole $500 in cash, three firearms valued at $400, jewelry valued at $1,500 and collectible coins valued at $3,000.

– A resident of Spartanburg reported Dec. 27 that a gun had been stolen from the home of his deceased mother in Pacolet. The gun was valued at $50.

– A resident of Meansville Road in Union reported Dec. 27 that someone had broken into her home between 10 a.m. and 8:45 p.m. Dec. 27. A laptop valued at $450, a television valued at $150, $60 in loose change, two cell phones valued at $40 and jewelry valued at $220 was reported missing. The back door had been forced open to gain entry.

– A resident of Jonesville reported Dec. 28 that he was pulled from his vehicle while he was at the old post office in Jonesville and assaulted.
